Literacy 4/5
1. Good morning, Grade 4/5. This is our last week of online learning. For Literacy, we will be working on one last writing piece this week. You will need to brainstorm your ideas, make an outline, write a draft copy, edit it, and write a good copy. You will be writing a memoir, that is a text about an important memory to you. It could be from a vacation, holiday, day trip, etc. As we're approaching summer, you could write a memoir on your favourite summer memory, however that is just a suggestion. You can decide the topic. Today, you should take time to think of your idea, plan your outline, and maybe start your draft copy.
Your writing should be one page single-spaced or five paragraphs. The first paragraph is your introduction in which you state what you will be writing about. The last paragraph serves as your conclusion. Remember to indent your paragraphs and use proper spelling and punctuation.
"I can write for a purpose, consider my audience, choose a specific topic, narrow my focus and choose an appropriate text form."
"I can write a draft on a specific topic and include relevant details."
2. Don't forget to read 30 minutes today.
"I can read to be informed, entertained, and persuaded."
Math 4/5
1. We'll spend a little more time today and tomorrow on division and multiplication. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, we'll do a general review of some of the concepts we've learned this year.

a. 749 x 8 =
b. 903 x 8 =
c. 834 x 3 =

c. 708 x 4 =
d. 845 x 7 =
e. 436 x 8 =
f. 397 x 5 =
Science 4/5
1. Last week you wrote about understanding animal behaviour. If we see a bird flying with a twig we could assume that it might be in the process of building a nest. This week we will be looking at what happens if a plant or animal is removed from a habitat. Each day, I will provide the name of the plant or animal. You will have to consider what would happen if that plant or animal were gone from the habitat. How would the habitat change? How would other plants or animals change?
Today's question is:
What would happen to the habitat if there were no more insects?
Your answer should be one paragraph in length. Don't forget to indent your paragraph.
"I can predict how the removal of a plant or animal population affects the rest of the community."
2. Don't forget to get 30 minutes of physical activity.
